The Author & Writing
I am Dawn, 36 going on 29 again next year!
So if you know me, you know that I absolutely love writing. I love adventures but most times the best adventures are in my mind-and one day they will be notated in my number one bestseller. It is my dream and my goal. For now, I freelance as much as I can or as much as my schedule will allow. I am also a single mom and a full time HR Administrative Officer (a title that includes all things administrativeJ). I am grateful for my three roles but my life is full and at times I can feel drained which just sucks any creativity right out of my soul. Over the years, I have created six titles and plots for my newest upcoming novel-that has never been finished! So several months ago, I was bouncing around the internet and stumbled upon Nanowrimo. Its purpose is definitely in its name. National Novel Writing Month-and the goal is to write a 50,000 word novel from November 1-November 30. Sounds difficult, right? Yeah, I thought so too. But there are many, many folks who seem to do just that and more. And, there are many who have recently told me that got their start this way and it seems to be a great motivating tool. I am so excited to begin! The forums are great and it seems to be packed full of established and would be authors. So I have a new goal. Maybe Nanowrimo is not so difficult, but rather challenging and a little grueling but I am up to the challenge. I have rested on a new story for November and have actually completed an outline for my story. Yeah ME. Vindication is the title! And the title speaks for itself… it will be a best friends mission to solve her friends disappearance and death and bring her assailant to justice. But the kicker…no one dies. Hmmm, we will just have to see how it all plays out!
UPDATE: I FINISHED! I FINISHED! I actually wrote a complete novel. It has a beginning, a middle, an end and even a plot and many subplots!!! So, now my cross to bear is that I actually have to edit this thing. And that was a lot more difficult than I thought! The easy part was writing it.
Check back for excerpts but know this thing is in its first draft-so be kind (please) if you feel a need to critique.
